For those who like the adventures and the beauties of the world God, brings us this, Raa Atoll Island is a very little island in The Maldives, it is also called Vaadhoo. Total population 500 people in 2007, -Yeah that kind of small.
This little island has a unique way of captivate the love of their visitors. Vaadhoo island is famous for the "sea of stars". An incredibly beautiful beach that at night gets its water glowing blue trail lights when water gets moved by the waves. This is a marine bioluminescence is generated by phytoplankton or scientifically called dinoglagellate, a cell membrane that responds to electrical signals. In other words, it start lighting with the movement of the waves.
Raa Atoll is an administrative division from the Maldives. The Capital is Ungoofaaru.This administrative divisions refers to the various units of government that provide the local government services in the Maldives. Administratively, there are 189 Islands, 19 atolls and 2 cities in the Maldives.
Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, Noonu, Raa, Baa, Kaafu, etc. are code letters assigned to the present administrative divisions of the Maldives. They are not the proper names of the natural atolls that make up these groups. Some atolls are divided into two administrative units while other sections are made up of two or more natural atolls. The order followed by the code letters is from North to South, beginning with the first letters of the Thaana alphabet used in Dhivehi. These code letters are not accurate from the geographical and cultural point of view. However, they have become popular among tourists and foreigners in the Maldives who find them easier to pronounce than the true atoll names in Dhivehi, (save a few exceptions, like Ari Atoll).
